Elegant Themes

Elegant Themes ScreenshotWeb designers are always on the lookout for high-quality WordPress themes. If you haven’t already heard of Elegant Themes it’s a matter of time before you will. They have been around for about eight years now. They have a counter on their website and it shows that they have helped almost 450,000 clients worldwide.

However, in this Elegant Themes review, I’m going to show you the pros and cons to using them, an inside look at what their teams are like, how customer support is handled, and lastly their pricing structure.

Now, before I get started I do want to point out that there are some very outdated Elegant Themes reviews out there on the internet. Some of them haven’t been updated in over a year. Their pricing structure isn’t accurate anymore. Furthermore, some of the stuff I read on Elegant Themes is just plain inaccurate. That being said anything I have written about Elegant Themes will be frequently updated to ensure that you’re reading quality content.

Elegant Themes Pros

  • Lifetime payment option where you never pay another dime.
  • Responsive customer support.
  • A trusted name in the WordPress industry.
  • 87 themes and five plug-ins.
  • Lifetime updates.
  • Lightweight clean code.
  • Unlimited website usage.

Elegant Themes Cons

  • Some themes haven’t been updated for a year.

Who Is Elegant Themes For

Don’t get me wrong the free WordPress themes are great, but when you need support with them sometimes the support isn’t so great. Elegant themes is for any WordPress developer, blogger affiliate marketer web designer, etc. Also, elegant Themes does come with five premium plug-ins that will work with any Theme even if they’re not developed by Elegant Themes.

Elegant Themes WordPress themes are for beginners all the way to the most advanced WordPress users. There are a lot of web developers that only use Elegant Themes developed sites. Also, there are lots of extras which you can purchase from third party sites which were developed exclusively for Divi by Elegant Themes.

What’s Included With Your Elegant Themes Membership

Elegant Themes IncludedTo put it in simple words a whole hell of a lot. Meaning you get 87 themes in 5 WordPress plug-ins with your Elegant Themes membership. Most importantly, support which can pay for itself rather than hiring outside help from a freelancer website.

Now I know the number “87″ looks excellent from a developers standpoint. However, some of these WordPress themes haven’t been updated since 12–06-16. This doesn’t mean that they’re not functional. The developers just put more emphasis on different themes. So let’s start out with Elegant Themes most popular WordPress theme.

Divi by Elegant Themes

Divi is the most popular theme they have created as of date. I do use it a lot of websites I develop. In fact, I’m using Divi on SellWebsite.co, too. I would say it’s safe to say that if this was the only theme you got with your membership it would still be worth it.

Here is a good video that is over 2 hour and 30 minutes on Divi:

Drag & Drop Page Builder

Visual BuilderWith the evolution of Divi, I have grown to love the page builder since 3.0. In the past years, I was kind of turned off with the page builder because I found it kind of confusing. But, ever since Divi 3.0 their page builder has been completely overhauled, improved, and the front-end editing interface has been a much nice added touch.

Modules

Divi Module

In order to build your pages, you’re going to use “modules”. These modules can be anything from bar counters, accordions, call to action, code, comments, contact forms, dividers, email opt-in etc. There are actually 40 different modules with Divi.

Additionally, you can save your layouts which is called your “library”. This is a simple way to develop a look for a homepage, squeeze page, contact page, etc. and then mimic it on other portions of your website. Also, you can use your layouts and export them to other websites so you don’t have to manually do them again and again.

There are also predefined layouts that you can use which have been developed by Elegant Themes. Currently, there are over 20 layouts you can choose from.

How Is Elegant Themes Support

All support with Elegant Themes is taken care of through their support ticket. Meaning, you go to your dashboard and find the correct theme and then start a ticket. Within anywhere from 2 minutes to 1 day, one of their support members will answer your question. Usually, I have found that support is quicker during the week than in on the weekend. During the week I have, I have submitted a ticket and got a response in 2 minutes. However, on the weekend I have waited 1 day for support.

Elegant Themes Support

Do make sure that if you have multiple problems you start multiple tickets, rather than putting it on all in one ticket. Over the years I have found this out and Elegant Themes does it so one of their agents can mark a ticket resolved when it’s fixed.

Sometimes you question will leave you with no other option but to have a developer login to your WordPress dashboard. When then is needed you will need to install their support plugin. Then, you will simply provide them with a support token so they can go in and troubleshoot the problem.

Overall, I have been very happy with Elegant Theme’s support over the years. Most of the time I just need custom CSS or some manual code to reorganize a theme the way I want it. Elegant Themes makes it very simple for me and provides me with CSS or code needed to make the required changes.

Elegant Themes Price Tag

Elegant themes has very fair pricing. Meaning whatever budget you’re on they should be able to work for you. If You’re relatively new to the development Industry there’s a good chance you don’t have a lot of start-up money. Here is a look at Elegant Themes pricing structure:

Elegant Themes Pricing

As you can see the yearly plan is only $89. The lifetime access is $249. You can easily upgrade to the lifetime plan and pay a prorated amount if money is tight too. Years ago I did this because about 5 years ago they offered three different plans and I just upgraded my plan ultimately to the lifetime access price.

Lastly, you can always get a refund if you decide Elegant Themes isn’t right for you for up to 30 days.

Final thoughts

Elegant Themes AdOverall Elegant Themes is one of my favorite WordPress frameworks. I actually used Divi by elegant themes on the site you’re reading right now. Customer support is very responsive and always helps you. There are lots of Facebook groups where other developers will also help you out.

I really am a fan of one time payments for WordPress themes. I’m in the business of creating websites and selling them for maximum profit. It’s very easy to do that when you have a lifetime payment and get unlimited support. I don’t have to buy a theme for $45 to $99 and then transfer the license over to the customer.

The themes with Elegant Themes are very lightweight, too. Meaning, they are not developed with a lot of complex code that bogs down your website. This helps with your SEO, too which is a major advantage if you’re in the website selling business like I am.

Lastly, I obviously support Elegant Themes and HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who is looking for a quality high-end WordPress theme. For years they have made my job so much easier and I have been able to profit from using them.

I would like to hear from you if you use Elegant Themes.  Do you have any questions that were not addressed in this article?  Please contribute to this review by rating them at the top of this page or by leaving a comment about your experience with Elegant Themes down below.

  1. Elegant Themes looks like an excellent WordPress framework. I am very interested in trying them out. Got to say that the lifetime payment looks like a great option! Never having to pay for something again will surely allow my business to make more money. However, I do have a question for you. Do you know how much Elegant Themes affiliate program pays?

    • Elegant Themes does have an affiliate program. It pays 50% of the order. But, the best part is for yearly subscriptions they will pay 50% every year that the client has Elegant Themes. It’s a pretty good way to make some yearly residual income.

  2. Great post and awesome recommendations, thanks a lot!

Elegant Themes looks like a great way of adjusting your WP site the way you want it, no doubt. The functionality seems spot on and I’d say that the pricing is brilliant.

And $250 for a lifetime access is not that much really. If you plan to work on your site for years to come, that’s a total bargain.

    • Yeah, the lifetime support is certainly worth the price. Plus, the excellent themes which you can develop an unlimited amount of sites for. I have always hated how other developers limit their themes to a number of websites. Thankfully, Elegant Themes doesn’t do that.

  3. Hello bro, I enjoyed your review of Elegant Themes. I in fact, have used Divi and am impressed what its functionality.  I have to agree that support is very good.  I love how quickly they take care of my problems. I have a question though.

What are your thoughts on the Monarch plugin for social sharing with Elegant Themes?

    • The Monarch plugin is alright. I have used it in the past. However, about a year ago I switched over to “Simple Share Buttons”. This plugin was created by WPBrigade and I have found it much easier to work with than Monarch.

  4. Divi by Elegant Themes is the best investment I have ever made. Personally, it’s the only WordPress theme I use for any of my client’s websites. Their drag and drop interface is the easiest to work with. I do like how there are premium extensions for Divi, too.

Nearly, anything you want to do with your website you can do it with Divi. It’s certainly worth the $250 one-time payment!

    • I agree that Divi is a great WordPress theme. Have been using it for several years now. I’m a huge fan of the one-time payment options. Since I am in the business of buying and selling websites the more one-time stuff I can own and use again and again; the more money I can make.

  5. I had not heard of Elegant Themes before reading this. $89 a year is $1.03 roughly a theme when you think of it in terms of 87 themes available. That is pretty cheap for quality word press themes. Even if they are not all up to date, still makes for an outstanding value.
Thank you for the recommendations and honest review, I will look into this as options for my upcoming sites.

  6. Elegant Themes looks great. However, I am not all that tech-savvy. Can the developers access your website if you want them to make the changes?

    • Yes, the developers can access your website. You have to install an Elegant Themes plugin. This then creates a token for 4 days I believe and then they can access the backend of your WordPress website and make the necessary changes. I have used it several times over the years.

  7. Elegant Themes looks just awesome. However, I use many plug-ins and right now I have compatibility issues with my current theme. This is why I consider changing. Do you have any experience with my problem? And do I face the same problem with Elegant Themes?

    • I’m guessing the current theme you are using is a free theme. Don’t get me wrong free themes are great and everything, but they do have their limitations. For example, some of the free themes become abandoned by the developers. Therefore, when there are WordPress updates it can cause errors. The code becomes outdated and the same can be said about plugins, too.

Some free themes don’t really give you much customer support either. The main advantage of Elegant Themes is their awesome support. Since, it’s a paid WordPress theme they are not just going to quit updating their themes, either.

Personally, I haven’t had any conflicts with Elegant Themes or any plugins, though.

  8. Great review of Elegant Themes Garen. You’ve rekindled my interest in having another go at using Divi. Like you I also found Divi confusing and difficult to use the first time around a couple of years ago.
But to be fair this probably had more to do with my limited web design skills and knowledge than Divi as I was only seeing rave reviews on the internet which is how I came to try it in the first place.
So I think I owe it to myself to have another go now that we’re onto Divi 3.0 and my web design skills have expanded a little in the interim.
Thanks again for the excellent post.
    Cheers

    • Believe me, I am with you on that. I remember years ago Divi wasn’t exactly what it is today. It was kind of hard to use and making changes seemed to be actually a lot harder than they needed to be.

But, now since Divi 3.0 it’s so much easier to make changes. You might want to try to give Divi another shot now. I use it on a lot of my sites.

  9. This post has made me reconsider the value of paying for a WP theme. For my sites, I always just use the free ones, but there are a lot of limitations in each theme that I find frustrating. Seems like Divi at least gives you the option for better interface and more usability, or at least more flexibility. Thanks for the info!
